1. Explore The Old Mill
The Old Mill in Pigeon Forge is one place in the city that has a rich history. The attraction’s namesake is a gristmill that was built in 1830. Its use benefited farmers, as they could effortlessly grind their wheat and corn crops to use themselves or sell. The act of gathering there fostered socialization which later led to the founding of Pigeon Forge! Today, the gristmill still sits on the Little Pigeon River. One thing that the attraction is known for is great food. Get a great breakfast at The Old Mill Restaurant. Their menu has Southern comfort favorites like omelets, pancakes, or French Toast. For lunch or dinner, stop by the Pottery House Cafe and get a Ribeye Steak Sandwich or Original Chicken Reuben. The Old Mill is also known for its great shop. Get a beautiful piece of functional art at Pigeon River Pottery. There are also delicious homemade goods at The Old Mill General Store. It’s easy to find something you love!
2. Zorbing at The Outdoor Gravity Park
Zorbing at the Outdoor Gravity Park is another one of the unique things to do in Pigeon Forge. It is a thrilling activity that originated in New Zealand where visitors roll around on one of 3 tracks inside of an 11-foot inflatable ball filled with water. It is easy to gain speed on the Purple Track. It has an over 10,000-foot hill. You can zorb by yourself or with 2 other people. The Orange Track is a zigzag course that allows for one rider at a time. It will be a great time no matter what track you choose!
3. Learn Something New At Alcatraz East Crime Museum
The Alcatraz East Crime Museum teaches visitors about a unique topic, the history of crime in the United States. Learn about how criminal actions have evolved with technology as well as the various consequences. The museum also has an exhibit that shows visitors how crime is prevented. Each of the exhibits has its own interactive activities that incorporate the information. You can take a picture in a pillory when learning about this history or crime and explore a full-scale police station to learn about the consequences. Another cool activity is getting to solve a murder on a lifelike crime scene. In addition to these activities, there is also an Artifacts Center that displays belongings from infamous American criminals.
