1. Explore the Forbidden Caverns
Come check out Sevierville’s Forbidden Caverns. It is deemed the “Greatest Attraction Under the Smokies,” as it is home to one of the most spectacular caverns in Tennessee and the United States! Tours happen seasonally from April through November. The cavern is well lit, so visitors will be able to see everything. Admire sparkling rock formations and look out for a crystal clear stream. A knowledgeable tour guide will be there to tell you about all the sights and answer any questions. What’s more? The cavern stays at a cool 58℉ inside, which means you don’t have to worry about getting too hot or cold.
2. See Animals at RainForest Adventures Zoo
Seeing animals at RainForest Adventures Discovery Zoo is another one of the unique things to do in Sevierville TN. This attraction is home to over 600 animals representing over 130 species that live in either tropical or temperate environments. One animal you will see there is a sugar glider! This is a type of possum that is known for its big eyes. While sugar gliders don’t have wings, they do have a soft membrane between the wrists and ankles called a patagium. This characteristic is what allows them to glide, and they can do so for up to 165 feet at a time. The other part of the name comes from the omnivorous diet. They survive on insects as well as sap and nectar. To see one during your visit, you may have to look down on the ground or high up in the tree branches. Besides sugar gliders, other animals at RainForest Adventures Zoo include frogs, scorpions, and toucans!
3. Experience All the Activities at SkyLand Ranch
There are lots of activities to enjoy at SkyLand Ranch! Admire the stunning scenery of the Smokies on a chairlift or ride around in an open air safari truck. See adorable miniature animals as well as the famous SkyLand Ranch longhorns. The attraction is also home to The Wild Stallion, the longest mountain coaster in the Southeast. Riders control their speed on the 1.25-mile track using a hand brake, so the car can go fast or slow. When all this activity works up an appetite, get a delicious meal at The Backyard! It is an area with many food trucks, so there is something for everyone! You can visit the Skyland Cafe and Bakery as well to get a made-from-scratch pizza and homemade candy! Before you leave, explore the shops to find some fun souvenirs and take a moment to enjoy the entertaining live music!
